Frustration abound

Well as the name and Matt's blog probably point out, I'm more than a little irked by my warband's performance on Monday. I don't think doing bugger all in the two most crucial shooting phases of the game helped any. But i have decided to re-use my starting warband with some slight alterations, the problem is I'm not sure if I'm happy with the changes or not. I've decided to swap out a looter for a dwarfen troll slayer for when i eventually get into the inevitable wanton slaughter of my bandits 'iwsomb' that is the combat phase, however this leaves me with less shooting to actually whittle down the enemy thus more will make it into combat with me and it also gives me less chances to loot any fallen enemies.

For my warband (which goes by the name of 'peasant vengeance) i have decided to arm most of my models with axes, most being as many as can have them, giving them a woodsmen feel. The background I'm currently fluffing out (ouch) is of a
woodsmen group that had to turn to banditry to survive due to increasing beastmen raids, one of the members is a dwarfen slayer who has lived with the group for many years. He recently wrote to his brother a runesmith journey man to ask for assistance, but while waiting for him the group
received word from a mysterious man of mystery who implored for them to help him stop a growing evil in the far reaches of the empire. So after a weary months travel through the empire they have finaly reached the great ruins of morkhiem and are ready to win fame, fortune and glory...

Monday's session will be rather interesting as i have to work out how to get the party back together after two of them wandered off into the forest and one stayed behind (couldn't make it). However the direction i wanted to take the campaign means there is no chance of them ever meeting again (this was unintended) so i have quite an issue to solve. At least i have the weekend off work to think about it, the downside being i will be in tremendous pain from having my wisdom teeth being yanked from my head.

Also i am pleased to note that Matt has yet to catch up to my rank in Vegas II, even after playing for hours with Tim. I've started playing fallout III again which has been fun, those mutants are still uncanny with their ability to sneak up on me.
I went on the gamesworksop website last night to see what comes in the Tyranid Ravenger package and the site has really gone the way of White Dwarf, which was a huge disappointment to me as they both used to be really great. Then again Paul left a long time ago so i guess i should be used to it by now.

Anywho i should probably go do something else for awhile now,
Good night and good luck.

strike two

Well i won again, although if you asked oscy he'd say it's due to the orcs being broken..
In the next campaign i'm looking forward to running with the hocland bandits as none of us have run them as of yet. They seem to be a pretty fragile list with the good/useful guys having shit-all in the way of equipment, could be interesting. This time we were thinking of re-running the 'thy soul to keep' campaign and focusing on mainly single player games as the others seem to be scared of the raw awesome that stems from multiplayer morkhiem.

Coming up this weekend oscy and i are going to try catch some FNM action at vagabonds and king-0-cards, followed possibly by some L5R at vagabonds on sunday. Depends on when i finish work i guess.

Can't really think of anything else at the moment other than need to come up with an idea for a small business for this new course i'm starting tomorrow.. wish me luck i guess.

good night and good luck

Equal parts awesome and ownage

Well, i must say that Monday's gaming session went stupidly well for me.
Firstly Oscy and i decided to teach Tim how to play a card game called L5R or legends of the five rings, which went rather swimmingly considering it was my second and oscy's third try at the game. Matt unfortunately wasn't interested in joining in but seemed happy rocking round on Vegas.

Mordheim after that went even better, even though tim bitched out of our alliance and decided to flee with the treasure rather than helping the 'boyz' out. I still came through winning in the end and have decided to do a little vengful head hunting next time they wander into the bloody streets of mord.. mork... ah, morkheim...

Dnd will be interesting next week as the party is split up and about three days from each other, could be fun... I'm pretty sure the party will survive, just depends on how much of a smart ass oscy is this time =P

Anyways i gotta go rock out in Vegas for a bit to make sure Matt doesn't catch me up..
